The Four Seasons: Orlando

If it’s not fun, you’re not doing it right.
— Bob Basso

The Four Seasons Orlando is my favorite Disney World Resort. Especially when we’re traveling during a time of year that’s hot and sticky and humid (which is generally the case when it comes to Florida).

The reason being is that they have the most fantastic grounds and outdoor amenities. We loved spending days lounging by the main pool, sipping on ice cold drinks and dipping in the water whenever we felt like it. Not to mention the Beets and Burrata Salad at their Pool, Bar, and Grill (appropriately named P, B & G) is, hands down, the best salad I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. It’s an explosion of creamy deliciousness in your mouth.

The Pool, Bar, and Grill is also the perfect place to seek refuge from the sweltering Floridian heat. This eatery is actually a fully covered, lakefront platform, equipped with fans and beautiful views. And kids under five eat free. Which is great if you have a super picky eater that sometimes dines and dashes.

So let’s talk about the incredible pool (which is actually part of a five-acre Water Park).

It slopes downwards and is super shallow. I could literally sit down in the pool with my butt on the floor and upper body completely above water and watch my three year old daughter play with her floaties on. This is beyond comfortable, especially if you happen to be pregnant and have zero energy (as I was during our last visit). The Main Pool also has a Water Slide for Toddlers integrated into it, which Camilla used over and over again, shouting “calabunga” as she descended.

The next part of this five-acre Water Park that we loved was the Lazy River (my favorite feature). There’s nothing better than laying like a beached whale on a float and drifting round and round while lush vegetation and towering palms surround you.

There’s also a Splash Pad in a completely separate area. Which is next to a Massive Water Slide that my husband thoroughly enjoyed going down.

The food throughout the resort is obviously to die for. I mean, it’s a Four Seasons… that goes without saying.

It’s truly the perfect place to escape from the long lines and pounding heat of Disney World Parks. And because they’re affiliated with Disney you can take the free, air conditioned luxury shuttle back and forth from Disney Parks as many times as you want. Camilla thought the shuttle was actually a ride as well. Sometimes, I wish I was three again.

And, with Disney changing their rules and no longer allowing the characters to walk around the parks freely, going to the Character Breakfast at The Four Seasons was a great way for Camilla to meet the characters without waiting in a 45 minute line.
