Station 400
Station 400 is a hidden gem.
This restaurant has two locations, one of which is located in downtown Sarasota, minutes from the bridge that takes you over to Lido Key and a ten minute drive to Siesta Key. If you’re looking for a delicious breakfast or lunch sourced from gorgeous, local ingredients… this is your spot.
There is always a wait and they don’t take reservations. So the earlier you get there, the better. But the food is more than worth it. And I’ve had my bad share of bad food with a view. Which is essentially where I choose a place based on the ambiance and the food turns out to be total crap. This happens a lot with beach side and theme park restaurants.
Station 400 isn’t this.
It is possibly the best breakfast I’ve ever eaten. I’m usually a savory person but when we go here I have to order a savory item and a sweet item. Yes. I order two entrees for myself. That’s how good the food is.
On this particular morning, I ordered the smoked salmon benedict with a side of grits (pictured above). Followed by their classic french toast (pictured below).
Their classic french toast is served with vanilla butter and vanilla bean maple syrup. It is the most delicious French toast I have ever had. Ever. Their smoked salmon benedict is served with grilled tomatoes and lemon dill hollandaise. Also mouthwatering. Shane ordered the truffle eggs benedict. I mean, can you even? Each item I order is better than the last and I am slowly working my way through the entire menu (their breakfast menu is shown below for your viewing pleasure).
Whether you’re vacationing in Sarasota or a local on your way to the beach, Station 400 is a must that is definitely not bad food with a view.
