The Royale Hideaway

The first vacation I took with my husband was to The Royale Hideaway in Playa del Carmen.

We had only known eachother for a few months and it was a sexy, intimate, adults only resort with an infinity pool that overlooked the ocean. I actually recall it being listed as one of the top ten infinity pools in the world because of the view.

The thing that makes this particular resort so relaxing is that it’s not only four stars, but it’s also all-inclusive, in addition to being adults only. Usually four star luxury resorts are not all inclusive. There’s something about knowing that I’m not spending money every time I drink a pina collada that sends me over the edge into relaxed bliss.

Speaking of relaxed bliss, we booked a couples massage under the stars that was, to this day, one of the most romantic experiences I’ve ever had.

It was just a really quiet, secluded spot.

And the staff was beyond. They made me iced coffee every morning and delivered it to me by the pool even though it wasn’t on the menu. The liquor (included) was top shelf. And all of the restaurants were fabulous.

We has such a great time we contemplated having our wedding there, years later. If that’s not the highest complement, I don’t know what is.
